In this memoir, excerpts from the journal of Rindlisbacher, along with commentary from his wife as she records them, are shared. It tells of his entry into the Navy, the jobs he performed, his time at sea, the places he went (over 46,000 miles in under a year) aboard the U.S.S. Seveir APA 233, and of his many religious experiences during the war. Included are letters from LDS Apostle Harold B. Lee to Rindlisbacher as he served as a Group Leader for LDS servicemen, two recorded blessings given to him by LDS Patriarchs, many pictures, and several articles.

Rindlisbacher served in the U.S. Navy Pacific Theater during World War II from 1942-1946. Rindlisbacher was assigned to the USS Sevier APA 233 and was made operator of landing craft.
